Happy Birthday Uncle Phil

While Uncle Phil is wandering the likes of Alaska on his neverending vacation and move to LA.... we here, celebrated his birthday 'in style'!!! A BIG:

Let's see.... for starters, we did our marathon waffle making morning..... this batch does not seem to be the full 2 week supply we usually get out of a batch, but it will last us a little while at least!

While working on the waffles, Dahlia lally-gagged in a half-hour bath that then was followed by a half-hour shower.... full of bubble-soap making and soup making, and very little "washing" going on!

All the while, Kaidin was diggin' through Legos and created his own transformer lego man/robot thingy. Transformers have been a big hit in the house lately.... of course Legos and Bionicles are always hand-in-hand with anything else going on in our world.

Alrighty.... so then we worked hard on the big "Happy Birthday Uncle Phil" sign.... which we have to mail out to him b/c Kaidin created a dot-to-dot on there for him to do.... So... uh, Uncle Phil, we need your new mailing address! (p.s. to that one... it's a race car on a race track, so make sure you get it right!)
After all of that, of course I had to take on a clothes exchange project. Mr. Shea has grown out of everything in his cabinet, so we had to go diggin' in the clothes box for some bigger boy clothes. While we were diggin' we came across the rasta hat.... a big hit I might add.

Hmm.... I think somewhere in there I finally was able to take a shower and vacuum the floor.... and then Mr. Shea got his very first swing of his life!!!!

Of course, we could not end the day with out cake! So since we all ate a very very late lunch, we decided we would have hot fudge brownie ala mode for dinner! What perfect way to end a great day!

I love you

At bedtime this evening....
Dahlia: "Mommy, I love you"
me: "I love you too Dahlia"
Dahlia: "I love you SO much!"
me: "I love you very very much"
Dahlia "..... Mommy........ I love you more than a pig."

Ahhhh..... to be loved more than a pig = )

Other summer fun

I realize that I am very slow in getting the pics downloaded.... but here are some other summer fun-happenings. Kaidin tested for his blue-stripe belt in Karate and we had a really fun day at a water-type/fountain park with Grandma near her house! (I think this is one of the few pics we have of Grandma!!! Except for maybe the day they were each born!)

Cicada Killer aka Sphecius

These have been the talk of the town lately. We seem to have a few nests of these guys perched outside our front door. So each morning we leave it is a "mad dash" by Kaidin and Dahlia as they are just positive these things are not just after cicadas!

Today we found one..... laying dead. Dahlia wanted to take it inside, but guess who had to carry it in! Yikes.... gives me the willies, even when it is dead!

So we then did a little googling on the buggers and found some cool stuff!

The BIG 3 MO!

That's him.... little man is already 3 months old! Can't believe how the time is flying. Can't believe how 'solid' he feels in my arms. Becoming a true 'little man'!!!

Weighing in at nearly 16 lbs. and already 25 in. long! He's quite the charmer. Will coo and goo at just about anyone.... as long as mommy or daddy are holding him! = )

Favorite place to sleep?

Of course!!!

LOVES big brother and sister! Just can't wait till he can get on those feet of his and run himself! His favorite 'trick' is where I hold his hand/arms and count "1, 2, 3.... ooopa!" and help him to a stand. His face lights up and he giggles and is just SO proud of his accomplishments. Way too amazing for words.

We are all enjoying the rest of summer and hoping the warm weather lingers well into the following weeks/months!
